This Facebook post with a video purportedly of Ghanaians jumping off a bus in Germany to avoid deportation is FALSE.
The post reads: “Ghanaians in Germany jumping off a bus that was transporting them to the airport for deportation.”
A separation of the keyframes using video verification tool InVid WeVerify, followed by an image reverse search on Google Lens, established that the video was taken in Algeria.
The video was featured in a 3 July 2023-dated Al Arabiya article with the headline, “Algeria: Migrants escape by jumping from bus window during deportation”.
According to the report, the “immigrants were being caught and taken for deportation, during which these people jumped from the standing bus and started escaping.”
